SOCIAL HOUSING - City of York
City of York Council has selected the Lever Action and Profile ranges to continue its renowned 'Tenants Choice' improvement programme for council housing. This is part of the drive to ensure that all council housing in York meets the government's Decent Homes standard by 2010. The council continues its comprehensive programme of improvements to the city's 8,000 council homes. These efforts are already paying off and almost 90 per cent of homes are achieving the Decent Homes target already. During the next four years, the council is looking to invest £28 million in its housing stock to improve the quality of life of its tenants.
